Distribution of 1,100 Heads of Livestock to 257 Families in Qafl Shamar, Hajjah

Under the project “Providing Livelihood and Pastoral Support to Vulnerable Families,” funded by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and supervised by the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs – Hajjah Branch, and the Agriculture and Irrigation Office, the Mozn Charitable Development & Social Foundation implemented the second phase of livestock distribution in Qafl Shamar District, Hajjah Governorate.

In this phase, 1,100 heads of livestock (sheep and goats) were distributed to 257 vulnerable families, with each family receiving four heads of livestock. This initiative aims to enhance the livelihoods of these families by providing them with sustainable sources of income and nutrition.

This activity is part of a series of interventions implemented by the Foundation in 2024, including:

  • Distribution of 165 tons of animal feed and salt licks.
  • Distribution of 2,000 heads of livestock (small ruminants).
  • Provision of cash assistance to 1,000 vulnerable households to combat malnutrition, amounting to 122,000 Yemeni Rials per beneficiary.
  • Economic empowerment of targeted families to improve their livelihoods, based on the principle: “Do not give me a fish, but teach me how to fish.”
