Rehabilitation and Expansion of Water and Sanitation Projects in Al-Matun District, Al-Jawf Governorate.

With generous support from the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF),
and under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, the Local Authority, and the General Authority for Rural Water Supply,
within the framework of the Integrated Emergency Response Project in the sectors of Protection, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), aimed at providing life-saving assistance to the most vulnerable groups in Al-Jawf Governorate, specifically Al-Hazm and Al-Matun districts.

Project Implementation

Mozn Foundation for Charitable, Development, and Social Work is implementing the rehabilitation of the Ma‘mirah Water Project in Al-Matun District.

Rehabilitation Works Included

  • Installation of a solar-powered water pump.
  • Installation of a fully integrated solar energy system for water pumping.

Humanitarian Impact

This intervention has contributed to alleviating the suffering of internally displaced persons and host communities, benefiting 4,615 individuals through the provision of clean and safe water, ensuring service continuity, enhancing sustainability, and reducing dependence on fuel.

Network Expansion Activities

The Foundation is also implementing the expansion of water supply networks for the Al-Sarhat and Al-Farsha Water Projects in the same district, which is expected to benefit approximately 10,161 individuals.

Sanitation Activities

In the same context, the Foundation is carrying out sewage desludging activities in the district, helping to reduce the spread of diseases and epidemics and improve the overall public health and environmental conditions of the community.
